This this the "RED" Continuity Studio Announcer's studio in the 1970's. You will notice that there was only ONE FADER which controlled the microphone! What about the tapes and grams level controls??????
Well, the Technical Operator controlled the programme levels of the Grams and Tapes in another separate adjacent studio cubicle as shown in the next photo:
